The Role of Influencers

People are your biggest asset in any business. With the right people championing the right causes for your business, your business can grow at faster rate. Each one does not have the same qualities or skill sets, and they shouldn’t be as you need a diverse team of experts who are good at their various fields. However what is important is that they all are united behind the cause, and that is the essence of the unity of your team.

In the fragile early stages of Islam, the Prophet PBUH recognised the need for a strong influencer in his team; one who should have excellent moral courage and had the strength both spiritually as well as physically to drive the religion forward. Hence the Prophet made the following supplication:

“Oh Allah! Give strength to Islam especially through either of two men you love more: Umar bin Al-Khattab or Abu Jahl bin Hisham.” (Safi-ur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri. Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum. Darussalam, 2002. Print.)

The result of which is the famous miracle in which Umar turned from a man who was set out to murder the Prophet, into one of the strongest companions of the Prophet who was ever willing to strike for Islam and defend the Prophet, and later on a rightly guided caliph.

Even the Prophet PBUH recognized the need for influencers. It’s time you identified some too for your business.
